Mercedes will show three concept BlueZero vehicles in Detroit

In January at the Detroit Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz will reveal three concept BlueZero vehicles. First one is called BlueZero E-Cell and features an electric motor packed by a lithium-ion battery. Maximum range on the full charge is 124 miles (200 km). Two hours of charging should have a theoretical range of 62 miles (100 km).

Second concept is called BlueZero F-Cell and is a hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle with a maximum range of 400 miles. Power will come from a 120 hp electric motor.

Third concept, BlueZero E-Cell Plus is the most likely to enter production. It is an extended-range electric vehicle, similar to Chevy Volt. The car has a 62 mile (100 km) range on battery power. If the battery runs out of juice, then 3-cylinder turbo engine that produces 67 hp will kick in to re-charge it, giving the car a total range of 373 miles (600 km).

All three models have a top speed electronically limited to 93 mph (150 km/h). 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) takes less than 11 seconds.
